Sin Muros: A Latinx Theatre Festival @ Stages

Every February, Stages celebrates the range of Latinx voices and stories reflecting the diversity of local Texas communities. The 3rd annual Sin Muros Latinx Theatre Festival will happen this February. Tintero Projects is a co - organizing partner focusing on providing poetry at the beginning of each play reading during the weekend festival. The festival weekend will be filled with public events for audiences and local theatre-makers, including workshops and networking opportunities.

The Sin Muros Festival features developmental workshop readings of new plays by Texas playwrights.

Houston Latino Film Festival

The Houston Latino Film Festival is produced by a nonprofit, Latino arts organization dedicated to developing, promoting and increasing awareness of Latino culture among Latinos and other communities by presenting a variety of art and films to the Houston area.

During the festival, films from all over Latin America and the U.S. will screen. The programming represents the great diversity of themes and genres of the Latino and Hispanic filmmaking. The five-day Festival also features opportunities for the audiences to participate in discussions with the directors at the screenings as well as a series of special events highlighting the diversity of the Latino culture. Tintero Projects collaborates with the HLFF to provide poetry during the festival - in an hour long poetry session in-between film showings.

This year’s festival poets include:
Hugo Esteban Rodriguez
Miriam Damaris Mardivino
Icess Fernandez Rojas
Reyes Ramirez (Current Houston Poet Laureate)
